Lynne Milliken Fine Art

Growing up on a Colorado ranch amid seamstresses and quilters, Lynne Milliken was the odd daughter who couldn't sew.  Instead she helped work cattle, studied clouds, and roamed acres of grass, wild flowers and Ponderosa pines. While avoiding the perils of the sewing machine, Lynne discovered drawing more suited to her personality and as a teenager, began her lifelong pursuit of art.  As her path took her through college, family, and teaching, art took her through watercolor and printmaking to oils.

Lynne now paints en plein air and in her studio creating works that reflect skies, land, and symbols of her much loved rural lifestyle.  Influenced by Russian impressionists and western landscape painters, she has collected field studies from the Rocky Mountain region and both coasts,  capturing moments of light and color in her impressionistic style.  As a member of Plein Air Artists Colorado,  Atlantic Plein Air Painters,  and Evergreen Artists, she participates in gallery shows and juried exhibitions and events throughout the year.

" I am not sure what I would do if I lived where I couldn't see great skies and miles of earth stretching out ahead.  I am grateful to have been given such a gift and paint to share it with others."  Lynne
